This year too, the squares will be filled with the Newroz fire, halay dances and our songs yearning for freedom.
Every part of Kurdistan has always been a stage for resistance and struggle. In every attack against Kurdistan, the fascist Turkish state, the HTŞ-ISIS gangs and the imperialists have all faced the fire of resistance from the Kurdish people and all the oppressed.
In the attacks launched against Rojava in January, alongside the arrest campaigns targeting the Kurdish people in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey, and in the popular uprising in Iran, we saw the Kurdish people, alongside the Iranian, Baloch, Azeri and Persian peoples, reignite this flame of rebellion in Rojhilat.
The imperialists have set their sights on Kurdistan. Imperialist USA and the Zionist state of Israel seek to reshape the Middle East according to their own interests and are launching wars and attacks for this purpose. The attacks carried out against Rojava in January are nothing other than this. As the slogan ‘Yeke Yeke Yeke, Kurdistan Yeke’ states, the time has come for the four parts of Kurdistan to unite and stand against Imperialism and Zionism. Imperialism offers us no future; our only future and hope lies in revolution and struggle, just as it did 13 years ago in Rojava. That is why now is the time to defend the Rojava revolution and its gains; now is the time to organise.
Our struggle is for:
– An end to the siege imposed on Kobanê
– Recognition of Rojava’s status
– Defending the Women’s Revolution
We must expand the struggle for freedom for the peoples of the Middle East, from Rojava to Rojîlhat to Palestine! And put an end to the imperialist war now escalating in Iran.
We are celebrating this Newroz once again with resistance.
Our slogans and halays will give us the hope and fire to continue the struggle.
